Food Shopping partial listing

Restaurants partial listing (roughly in order of our preference)
Econo-Rincón - on the Casa Aramelle side of town.   Casa Isleña is tops - 787-823-1525 -- (GPS: N18 22.282 W67 15.219)
Rincón Cash-and-Carry - in town. We use this one a lot as we want to support the smaller businesses in the town.   The Shipwreck - very nice food. (GPS: N18 20.711 W67 15.575)
Roadside vendors sell fruits and vegetables - There's an especially good one on Route 115 heading toward Mayagüez, almost at Route 2 (GPS: N18 17.564 W67 10.652)   Lazy Parrot 787-823-5654 - (GPS: N18 21.642 W67 15.391)
Bakeries and small "colmado's" carry milk and bread and other staples. Can get a whole chicken at EC Bakery opposite Rincón Stadium on rt. 115   The English Rose (for brunch) 787-823-4032 Worth the challenge of getting there. Take narrow uphill road across Route 413 from the Steps Beach driveway. It's a narrow road with tropical vegitation growing over the sides of the road...but don't let that fool you. You are on the right path (literally). Head on up that road, you will pass Tres Palmes Estates and hit a very steep section of road, just keep on cruising up. At the very top of the very steep part of the road the road will turn right...follow the road to the right for about another 250 yards and it will be on the right hand side.
Broadway Bagel, Subway, Quiznos, etc. - they're out there, you can't miss them. (No shortage of fast food joints in Rincón)   Pools Beach 787-823-2583
Fresh fish: Rincón is a fishing village where it is a challenge to find fresh fish to buy! Your best bet is to ask people where and when the fishermen come ashore with their catch - and buy directly from them.   Mahi-Mahi on route 402, almost to Route 2. (GPS: N18 17.937 W67 09.646)
Farmers' Market: We understand there is a Farmers Market every day in Mayagüez and that Stall 23 has the best produce. It isn't organic but it is fresh. For directions, ask in Naturcentro   Tropicale (they say the blue one behind the furniture store on 115 is better than the one in parking lot near laundromat)
Sam's Club - in the Western Plaza Shopping Center, Route 2, Mayagüez. You need a member's card.   "The Spot" (formerly the Black Eagle) 787-823-3510

Angelo's (on route 115 towards Mayagüez)
The Horned Dorset Primavera 787-823-4050 has a "Relais and Chateau" rating. (Bring a big wallet. Gentlemen need to wear long trousers.)
